All India Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha and Prabhari Himachal Pradesh Advocate, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said in a democracy the people were kings and it was they who would pass judgement on the scam ridden Congress led UPA government at the centre and repose faith in the leadership of a NDA government with Shri Narendra Modi at its head. After casting his vote on the eve of polling at his village Bhukhari Kalan Ludhiana In a press statement here today, Grewal said he could sense a clear wave in favour of chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and NDA prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Punjab and was confident that the SAD-BJP would sweep the parliamentary elections in the State by winning all 13 seats at stake. He said that there is palpable anger amongest the people against the UPA government which has caused inflation and unemployment and has discriminated against Punjab for ten years now. Grewal said he had also got a feeling during the campaign that the people were in favour of having the same government at the centre and the State to ensure speedy development. He said such a chance has now come after ten years and I am confident that the people will not let it go. On SAD-BJP alliance Government in Punjab Grewal said it had delivered despite constraints and discrimination in allocation of funds by the centre. He said that we have fulfilled the commitments made to the people be it making the State power surplus, introducing novel welfare schemes including the 'aata -daal' scheme, making government- citizen interface easier through governance reforms and introduction of 'sannjh' and 'suvidha' centres and even attracting investment by introducing unique incentives. Grewal said that the Government was committed to delivering on major fronts once a NDA government was formed at the centre. "Badal Sahab has a unique relationship with Mr Narendra Modi and has already discussed a number of issues with the NDA prime ministerial candidate". He said this included constructing houses for the houseless in both rural and urban areas, offering a remunerative minimum support price, MSP to the farmers and ensuring them full crop insurance besides working for an industrial package for the State. Grewal said that we hope to deliver on all these issues once Shri Narendra Modi is sworn in as the next prime minister of our country. Grewal said the people should evaluate what the party could offer to the State and its people. He said that everyone knows that all the senior leaders including Capt Amarinder Singh, Partap Singh Bajwa and Sunil Jakhar were reluctant candidates and were forced into the contest by the high command. He said even today till the very last minute they are working against each other and have no hope of winning from their seats. Grewal said it was for the people to decide why the Congress had not told the people of Punjab what the UPA government did for the State during the last ten years. He said that six Punjab Congress leaders even served as Union ministers during this period, even they failed to bring any major project to Punjab. He said the Punjab Congress party has even failed to come out with its future vision for the State. He said that all the party has done since the last nearly two months is run a negative propaganda against the SAD-BJP combine. We however have stuck to the positives and put our achievements before the peoples of Punjab.

After a meeting in favour of Manprit Singh Ayali at ferozepur Road Ludhiana, In a press statement here today, he said new entrant Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had no existence in Punjab. Grewal said that the AAP is nowhere in Punjab, there is no wave in favour of it, on the other hand, a wave in favour BJP's prime ministerial candidate Modi is sweeping the country. Grewal said that AAP is also contesting all the 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab making the fight multi-cornered in all constituencies. Grewal exuding confidence about the SAD-BJP combine winning all the 13 seats in Punjab. He said the election in the state was being fought on the issue of development. "A government headed by Modi at the Centre will further accelerate the pace of development in Punjab," he said alleging the Congress party had discriminated against the state in the past ten years. He said seeking votes for the SAD-BJP nominees, "Modi stands for development." He accused the Punjab Congress party of creating roadblocks in the path of development in the state. Grewal said that "our Punjab is set to move into the next trajectory of development thanks to the leadership of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Narendra Modi and BJP Leadership. National BJP leader and Kisan Morcha National Secretary today taking a swipe at Amarinder Singh's royal background. After BJYM meeting, in a press statement here today Grewal said that the politics of the Congress leader reflects his "feudal mindset" as he has been caught "lying with a straight face" on the property tax and Jagdish Tytler issue. Grewal also charged that Capt Amrinder Singh lives in a "world of sycophants". He said that " the politics of Congress party's candidate from Amritsar Lok Sabha Amarinder Singh only reflects his feudal instincts. He still lives in a world of sycophants where he is referred to as 'Maharaja Sahib'. He is discourteous and rude. He believes that discourtesy has given him the image of being 'Dabbang'".Grewal charged that "Amarinder Singh is not the best practitioner of ethical values. What is amazing is his ability to be extremely economical with the truth". Raking up the property tax issue, he said, Amarinder was caught being "untruthful" on the matter. Grewal said that " the tax was levied on the basis of his undertaking dated 7th December, 2006 to the Centre. I produced before the media the file carrying his signatures of approval. He ignored the truth and could bluntly lie that he did not approve it. Grewal charged that " the whole country saw him stand up and defend Jagdish Tytler in the 1984 riots case in an interview to a news channel. He today denies that he ever gave Tytler a clean chit. He, in a monarchical style, shouts down criticism and refuses to take questions." He said "having been caught lying with the straight face on the property tax and the Jagdish Tytler issue, any other candidate would have been put to shame before the people. But this emperor, even when caught without clothes, has the ability to look at you in the eye. This feudalism must be defeated." Talking about the BJP campaign, Grewal said, "There is clarity in the campaign.The acceptability of the leader is extremely high. The groundswell seems to be building up not only in our traditional support areas but also in those regions where our strength is relatively marginal." Grewal claimed "as against this, the Congress campaign is more abstract and confused.The leadership is non-inspirational, anti incumbency is hurting them significantly." He also noted barring the BJP and its allies, some regional parties appear to be doing well within the confines of their region. Grewal said that "most of these regional parties are conventionally anti- Congress. The third front or the federal front has a sporadic presence through certain regional groups but there is no structured alliance." He also said that "most opinion polls are predicting a comfortable BJP and NDA victory. No other alliance, expect the NDA has any rational possibility of forming the government. After door to door campaign Fateh Singh Coloney with Somdev Sharma and other BJP workers in Amritsar talking with the media here today, Grewal said with Arun Jaitley holding a portfolio like finance, there would be no dearth of funds for development of Punjab. He said Arun Jaitley's opponent and Former Punjab chief minister Capt. Amarinder Singh had returned to his palace in Patiala and even Congressmen were looking for him. He said the Generals of Congress are running away from the field. National Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha and Prabhari Himachal Pradesh Advocate, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that the battle for Amritsar was an electoral battle for a better future for the holy city and that only BJP candidate Arun Jaitely had the capacity to take the city to the next level of development. After a nukkar meeting, in a press statement here today, Grewal said there was no comparison between Arun Jaitely and Capt. Amarinder Singh. He said that on the one side you have a reluctant contestant in Capt. Amarinder Singh, who publically stated that he would not be able to do justice to Amritsar and it's people before he was forced to contest. Grewal said that on the other hand there is Arun Jaitely who will occupy an important ministry in the forthcoming NDA government, and will be able to remove all the bottlenecks coming in the way of development of Amritsar. He said that we also need to increase the number of goods which can be traded with Pakistan and these were issues which only a central minister could resolve. Grewal said that voting for Amarinder was akin to wasting one's vote. as there was no chance of the Congress forming the next government at the centre. About development work done in Amritsar Grewal said the city bus service is running successfully. He said that the flyovers and over bridges built in the city are there for all to see and a metro bus service on international pattern will also be put in place within two years. Grewal said that now we are looking forward to Arun Jaitely for construction of eight to ten more flyovers besides an industrialisation drive in the border area through a special package. Grewal said Capt Amarinder Singh had nothing to offer to the city. He said that Capt. Amarinder Singh has come for the duration of the campaign and will never be seen again.  Grewal said that his level of commitment to the city can be measured from the fact that he did not come to the city for nearly ten days after he was given the party ticket. Even now he is behaving like a decadent royal who expects people to know, tow to him and not the other way round. He said that the people are no longer enamoured by such feudal ways and will treat his candidature with the contempt it deserves. Grewal said that Arun Jaitely is here to stay and destined to script a new bright future for Amritsar.
