Acid attack aftermath Protest in University Srinagar, Arrest and punish the attackers - Grewal


Srinagar 12 December 2014 -
Amid boycotting class work, hundreds of students Friday staged a massive protest in  Kashmir University, demanding authorities bring to an end to acid attacks on young women that has sparked horror and outrage. The students demanded immediate arrest and stringent punishment to the attackers involved in Thursday acid attack on a Law Student at Nowshera Srinagar Pertinently, a 22-year-old Law student was Thursday injured in an acid attack by unidentified car-borne youth outside her college in Nowshehra area of Srinagar city.
On this incident, National Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha Sukhminderpal Sing Grewal condemning the acid attack on a female student in Kashmir said that government is totally responsible for such cases in the state as they are busy with their own causes rather than taking care of the people of the state. Grewal said that there is no other option rather than the state government should take immediate steps so that the attackers should be imprisoned as early as possible. “It should have stopped at first when before a couple of years a girl was attacked with the acid at Bagat area of Srinagar but the state government as always used to be in a deep slumber by acting blind to such cases,” he added.
On the other hand Male and female students of Kashmir University horrified by the vicious assault, gathered in front of administrative block, calling on the authorities to put an end to the crimes which has highlighted the striking challenges girls face in Kashmir  “Stop violence against women,” “Hang the attackers,” “Arrest the attackers” and, “Stop acid attacks” read the placards held by both male and female protesters.
