Punjab Iron Collection Committee member and BJP Kisan Morcha National Secretary Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that the regional workshop of Northern region i.e., Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana states by our National coordinator of Iron Collection Committee Om Prakash Dhankar would be held today on 9 December from 10-00 am to 05-00 pm at Law Bhawan, Sector - 37A, Chandigarh. Grewal said that the whole country has been divided into seven zones in order to impart training and to acquaint the members with the collection of iron for the Statue of Unity. He said the workshop in respect of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand would be held at Lucknow on December 10. He further added that the similar workshop in respect of election bound states would be held after the results were declared on December 13. He said all members of the state committees and district co-coordinators’ would participate in these workshops. Grewal said the meeting of the Southern region consisting of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Lakshwadeep, Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar Islands would be held at Hyderabad on November 24 from morning till evening. Grewal said the workshop regarding Western region, including Maharashtra, Goa, Daman and Diu, Dadar Nagar Haweli and Gujarat would be organised at Mumbai on November 26. He said similarly, the workshop pertaining to North-East region i.e. Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam would be held at Guwahati on November 28. He said the Eastern region workshop consisting of Sikkim, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar would be held at Patna on November 30. Grewal said the resource persons from Gujarat and senior ministers as well as the members of central committee would participate in these workshops.

No possibility of Pakistan winning any war against our country, India - Grewal

National Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal reacting on Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his comment on Kashmir that's talked of 4th war over Kashmir. He said that in this way Pakistan wanted terror and talks to coexist. Grewal said that there was no possibility of Pakistan winning any war against our country, India any time. In a sports club's meeting in Delhi university North Campus, in a press statement here today, he hit out at Pakistan Prime Minister for his comment on Kashmir. But now, Pakistan had described as "incorrect" the media report that Sharif had contended any such thing. A day back Nawaz Sharif had said that Kashmir is a flashpoint that can trigger a fourth war between Pakistan and India anytime. Kashmir is a flashpoint and can trigger a fourth war between the two nuclear powers at anytime, he was quoted as saying by the Dawn daily in his brief address to the budget session of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir ( AJK ) Council in Pak-occupied Kashmir. Therefore, the statement from Nawaz Sharif office said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan never uttered these words and the news item is baseless, incorrect and based on malafide intentions. In the statement from Nawaz Sharif office last night regarding his address to the PoK Council had touched on India-Pakistan relations but did not contain any remarks about the Kashmir issue triggering a war. During his address yesterday, Nawaz Sharif contended that India had indulged in an arms race. "We were drawn into arms race by India," he told the Council. He also expressed his satisfaction that the situation on the Line of Control had improved, on the Kashmir dispute, Nawaz Sharif had "expressed his dismay at the contradictory stance taken by the Government of India."

Nelson Mandela, the revered South African anti-apartheid icon who spent 27 years in prison, led his country to democracy and became its first black president, died Thursday at home. He was now 95 years old. Grewal said that he inspired a generation of activists, left celebrities and world leaders star-struck, won the Nobel Peace Prize and raised millions for humanitarian causes. In a press statement here today, Paying his tributes to South African leader Nelson Mandela, Grewal said that world has lost an apostle of peace and non-violence who inspired people across the world to stand against injustice. He said that whole world has lost an apostle of peace and non-violence. Grewal said that he was a great inspiring hero who fought against discrimination and injustice to people. He said that he always believed in Gandhi's methods and philosophy. Sardar Patel Statue - Marathon to drum up support for Statue of Unity - Grewal

BJP Kisan Morcha National Secretary and Member Iron Collection Committee Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that to garner support for the Statue of Unity project, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel trust set up to execute the project, led by BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Sh. Narendra Modi plans to host "Run for Unity" on December 15, the death anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Talking with the media here today, He said that the run is likely to be held at 562 places, the number being that of the princely states Patel integrated into the Indian union in 1947. Grewal said that in Vadodara International Marathon 2013, which was scheduled to be held on December 1, has now been postponed to December 15. He said that this decision was taken by the Vadodara Marathon directors late, citing clearance issues. He said that the presence of Modi at the event seems to be the prime reason for the change of date. Grewal said that apart from the approval for a full marathon by the Association of International Marathons, the managing committee also wanted to ensure the presence of Ethiopian runners who were facing a hurdle in getting visas to India during the first week of December. He said that the runners are an important part of Vadodara Marathon, if they are not present the flair will be gone. He said that the change of date will ensure their presence. Grewal said that the Vadodara Marathon has also got a confirmation from the office of Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who has promised to be present for the event, like the previous editions. He said tha Narendra Modi is likely to be in the city during the Vadodara Marathon if nothing pressing comes up and he will certainly flag off the 2014 campaign for the city unit. He said that the Vadodara Marathon was launched by athlete P T Usha. Grewal said that " Run for Unity " involving various local organisations, will be held at every taluka and city in Gujarat. He said today reports are that BJP workers from Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Sikkim to collect agricultural iron implements for the construction of 700-tonne statue of Our proud independent India's first home minister Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, for which a Rs 2,500-crore project has been prepared by the Gujarat Government. He told that our Senior BJP Leader Purushottam Rupala MP from Gujarat who led the team of Gujarat ministers, MP's and MLA's recalled that Sardar Patel contributed to the renovation of Somnath temple and said he would have got the Ram temple constructed at Ayodhya had be been the PM. Grewal told that in the construction of the world's tallest statue, all mukhiyas and sarpanches in the country would be associated. More than 2.5 lakh elected representatives in rural areas would be felicitated by the Gujarat government in the last week of February next year. He again stated that Collection of iron pieces would simultaneously start on December 15, the death anniversary of Sardar Patel, in all villages across all over the country. Grewal said that two principal secretary Rank officers - Sh. J N Singh and Sh. K Srinivas, who are associated with the project, have written to the chief secretaries of all the states seeking their support for the campaign and permission for holding 'Run for Unity' in different parts of the country on December 15. He said that the Deputy secretary Rank officer's of Gujarat Government are appointed nodal officers for different states. He said that all have visited several cities to coordinate with the local officials. Grewal said that the whole country has been divided into 8 zones for the project. He said that Gujarat ministers are visiting all the states to complete the LOHA CAMPAIGN by January 26. Grewal stated that BJP MP and former Union minister Hukumdeo Narayan Yadav has been made convener of the LOHA CAMPAIGN for five states. He said that our BJP Party's National vice-president Dr C P Thakur said iron pieces should be collected from the urban areas. Grewal stated that a group of young professionals having degrees in management, law and engineering from reputed institutions have been associated themselves with the statue project.
