Amritsar , 29 February 2014 -
National Secretary and Prabhari Himachal Pradesh Advocate, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that buoyed over the success of Narendra Modi's Fateh rally organized by SAD-BJP in Punjab now the Gujarat Chief Minister would also address a few more rallies in the state before the elections. Talking with the media persons here today, he said that the formation of third front as mixture of political parties, saying the front was not capable of preventing Narendra Modi from becoming Prime Minister. Grewal also dared the Third Front to declare its Prime Ministerial candidate so voters can make choice between them and BJP. He said that on going by the mood of the nation this front is not capable of preventing Narendra Modi for becoming the Prime Minister of the country. Grewal said that the countrymen have already made up their mind to handover the reign of the country in the strong hands of Modi due to which such fronts would hardly have any impact in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls. He said that the SAD-BJP alliance has already geared up for the forthcoming general polls by announcing the majority of candidates adding that the remaining candidates would be announced soon. Grewal gave a clarion call to people to form NDA-led government at the Centre, saying a decisive Prime Minister like Narendra Modi will restore country's glory as "Golden Sparrow." He said Narendra Modi had already proved his mettle as a visionary leader by making Gujarat a leading state of the country.  Grewal also impressed upon the people to rise above their parochial considerations and vote for the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate to restore the lost glory of the country. He said that every vote for BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate was a vote for the betterment of the country. Grewal accused Congress party of misruling the country and its wrong policies during the last 55 years. He said that due to misrule of Congress spanning over more than 55 years the dreams of our freedom fighters to have a progressive India has not been realised. Grewal alleged that the result of wrong policies of Congress is that today the country is facing a number of social maladies like unemployment, poverty, starvation, illiteracy and inflation which have accentuated the woes of the common man.

The obvious front runner is the BJP led NDA in 2014 Lok Sabha elections - Grewal

Ludhiana , 26 February 2014 -
National BJP leader Advocate, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections 2014 the season is on for political speculations. Talking in a press conference here today, he said that all knows of Delhi are continuing to evolve their views not based on any field reality but based on either their own assessments or what the pollsters keep indicating. He said till September 13, 2013 when the BJP announced Narendra Modi name for Prime Minister candidate-ship, the speculation was to will the Party be able to project one person Additionally, there was an argument that the issues of governance and anti-incumbency against the government will take a back seat and the elections will get polarized. The size of Modi?s rallies is unquestionably the largest I have seen in the past 25 years. Never since 1989 have we seen such enthusiasm in the Party rank and file; the only exceptions were the two elections of 1998 and 1999 when Shri Atal Bihari vajpaee was considered the most acceptable Prime Ministerial candidate in the political horizon of India. The BJP would have a high strike rate in States in the Northern, Central and Western parts of India. In states like Bihar and Karnataka located in the East and South, it would reconsolidate its gains. In some other States the BJP would be a balancer. Amongst various players in the traditionally Non-BJP states, the Modi BJP momentum could benefit any ally, even without an ally the party could pick up some stray seats. The aspirants for Government formation are many. The obvious front-runner is the BJP-led NDA. If the Congress is reduced to a double digit figure, it would be a clear loser. It cannot be the nucleus of an alliance. He said the "third Front" and the Federal front have too many claimants. There is hardly a large single claimant with presence in more than one state. Obviously, the front-runner's ability to first pass the post is significant. He said that the question now being posted is to How will the BJP led NDA cover the last mile, this is a time for theoretical calculations. He said that the "political pundits" will espouse on them. If one gets a feel of the ground reality it will become clear that these large crowds at Narendra Modi rallies are bringing a clear message, the front- runners score eventually will even be higher than what the pollsters are capturing. It is for smaller groups in several states to decide which way they want to move. There are smaller groups in several states which can marginally add to the collective vote of the BJP and allies partners.

BJP slams PSPCL for not adhering to consumer guidelines

Ludhiana , 18 February 2014 -
BJP Kisan Morcha's National Secretary Sukhminder Singh Grewal on Monday lashed out at the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) for poor consumer services and not adhering to the performance standards mandated by Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC).
Grewal, also the former vice-chairman of Punjab Small Industry and Export Corporation, said this while speaking to mediapersons here
"Several business houses are keen to invest in Punjab now and we have to check for providing good services," he maintained. The PSERC has specified distribution parameters to provide efficient and reliable power supply.
Grewal said these minimum standards of performance (MSOP) provide strict timeframe to resolve various consumer grievances such as overhead line breakdown, underground cable breakdown, distribution transformer failure, power transformer failure, street light faults etc.
He said the PSERC had mandated a compensation to consumers in case of non-fulfillment of these minimum standards of performance. He said compensation varies from Rs. 50 to Rs. 5,000 in case of each default.
He claimed that PSPCL neither fulfilled the MSOP nor compensated the consumers for lapse and also failed in resolving the specific complaints within four hours or remitting the compensation.
Grewal said even as the PSERC mandated the registration of each and every complaint filed by the consumers verbally, telephonically or in writing, there was hardly any such effective system in place to register or address the consumer complaints.
"According to the annual revenue requirement (ARR ) filed by the PSPCL with the PSERC, only 2,462 complaints were received in a year from over 65 lakh consumers in Punjab. On an average, over 10,000 complaints are received daily by PSPCL which means it had fudged the ARR figures to avoid compensation and save itself from action by PSERC," Grewal added.
Grewal said he has already write to Rajya Sabha MP and party's Punjab affairs in-charge Shanta Kumar, SAD president and deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Punjab BJP chief Kamal Sharma among others to pass strict instructions to the PSPCL in this connection.

It's a farewell budget for Congress led UPA Government - Grewal

Ludhiana , 18 February 2014 -
Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ) Leader and BJP Kisan Morcha's National Secretary Advocate, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal today attacked the Finance Minister Government of India, Shri. P Chidambaram's Interim Budget saying it was a farewell budget for the Congress led United Progressive Alliance ( UPA )Government. In a press statement today, he said that the Interim Budget, it's going to be a farewell budget for the Congress led UPA Government which doomed the economy of our country. Grewal said that instead of this costly budget Shri. P Chidambaram should have read the Congress's election manifesto in the parliament. Grewal said that the Centre government has done nothing for unemployment, inflation, economy and corruption in last ten years. Interim Budget should not be accompanied by pronouncements which have no guarantee of being adopted successfully by a government. He said we wishes that the Finance Minister had not made such announcements that he does not guarantee to implement. While Commenting on sops to ex servicemen in the Interim Budget, National Secretary said that a group of ministers should have been formed by the government to look into the issues faced by the defense veterans. He said that they should have also formed a group of ministers to look into the issues being faced by the ex-servicemen. Grewal said that I welcome the endorsement of "One Rank One Pension" by the Government. He said that now when it is time to go, it is trying to woo the voters with an affordable budget. Grewal said that the Congress led UPA Government should not have announced policies that it cannot implement. It's well known to everybody that earlier on Monday, Shri. P Chidambaram presented the interim budget in the Lok Sabha. It's a vote-on-account authorizing the government to carry out expenditure on different heads till a regular budget is presented. Ahead of the beginning of the parliament session early this month Shri. P Chidambaram had said that the government would tinker only in areas that are essential to revive the economic growth which might likely include some changes in excise and service taxes in the interim budget by Government of India.

SAD-BJP Govt result several business houses are keen to invest in Punjab now we have to check PSPCL for providing good services – Grewal

National BJP Leader and Punjab Small Industry and Export Corporation ( PSIEC ) Former Vice Chairman, Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that our SAD-BJP Government has made several efforts to boost the industrial sector in Punjab state. Grewal said that due to these efforts of SAD-BJP Government as result several business houses are keen to invest in our Punjab. He said that now we have to check Punjab State Power Corporation Limited ( PSPCL ) for providing good services to the Consumers in Punjab. Talking with the Media persons here today Grewal lashed out at Punjab State Power Corporation Limited for poor consumer services and absolute non-adherence of Standards of  Performance mandated by Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC )  appointed by Government of Punjab. Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) has specified critical distribution parameters to provide efficient, reliable and safe system of Electricity through its regulations provided in its Supply Code. These Minimum Standards of Performance provides strict timelines to resolve various Consumer grievances viz. Normal Fuse Off, Overhead Line Breakdowns, Underground Cable Breakdowns, Distribution Transformer Failure, Power Transformer Failure, Street Light Faults, Period of Scheduled Outage, Voltage Fluctuations, Meter Complaints, Release of New Connection, Transfer of Title or Conversion of Services, Shifting of Meter/Service Connection and other Services, Complaints about Consumer’s Bills and restoration of Supply. Grewal stated that Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) mandates a compensation to the Consumer in case of non-fulfillment of these Minimum Standards of Performance. Compensation varies from Rs 50/- to Rs 5000/- for each default for each Consumer. It is well known that Punjab State Power Corporation Limited neither fulfils these Minimum Standard of performance ( MSOP ) nor compensates any Consumer towards any such lapse whereas Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) mandates payment of such compensation by the way of adjustment in Electricity Bills. For instance, Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) mandates a normal fuse off complaint shall be addressed within 4 hours in cities, towns and urban areas and in case Punjab State Power Corporation Limited ( PSPCL ) fails to resolve the complaint within 4 hours, it shall remit Rs 50/- as compensation by the way of adjustment in the next bill of the Consumer.
Grewal added that Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) mandates registration of each and every complaint filed by the Consumer verbally, telephonically or in writing as per a duly approved Consumer Complaint Handling Procedure whereas there is hardly any such effective system in place to register and address consumer complaints. “According to the Annual Revenue Requirement ( ARR ) filed by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited ( PSPCL ) with the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ), it received only 2,462 complaints in a year from over 65 Lac Consumers across Punjab whereas on an average more than 10000 complaints are received daily by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited which clearly means Punjab State Power Corporation Limited ( PSPCL ) had fudged Annual Revenue Requirement ( ARR ) figures to avoid compensation and save itself from the wrath of Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) ”, added Grewal.
Grewal stated that he will write to Shri Shanta Kumar MP ( Rajya Sabha ) Prabhari Punjab Pradesh,  Shri Shyam Jhaju National BJP Secretary and Seh-Prabhari Punjab, Sr Sukhbir Singh Badal President Shiromani Akali Dal ( SAD ), Deputy Chief Minister and Power Minister Punjab, Shri Kamal Sharma Punjab State President Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ), Shri Tikshan Sud Political Advisor to CM Punjab and also to Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) to pass strict instructions to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited ( PSPCL ) to ensure registration of each and every complaint and its quick resolution, adhere to the Minimum Standard of performance ( MSOP ) as mandated by Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) and compensate each and every Consumer in case of any failure on its part.

PSEB Engineers Association of PSPCL should be headed by person with clean image - Grewal

National BJP Leader and Former Vice Chairman PSIEC, Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that the PSEB Engineers Association, a body representing engineers of PSPCL should be headed by a person with the clean image as the organization contributed a lot to the power situation in the Punjab. He said that a person with the tainted image only degenerates the successful, Important and truly organization. Grewal said that PSEB Engineers Association, Engineers and our SAD-BJP Punjab Government also has made several efforts to boost the industrial sector in Punjab state. He said that due to these efforts of SAD-BJP Government as result several business houses are keen to invest in our Punjab. Our Punjab Government had undertaken many power reforms to further facilitate Industrial Houses such as unbundling Punjab State Electricity Board into Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL). The intent was to increase the efficiency but unfortunately the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) is providing poor services to the Consumers in Punjab. These services and absolute non-adherence of Standards of  Performance mandated by Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) appointed by Government of Punjab. Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) has specified critical distribution parameters to provide efficient, reliable and safe system of Electricity through its regulations provided in its Supply Code. Grewal demand from Deputy CM and BJP Centre and State Leadership to pass strict instructions to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) to ensure registration of each and every complaint and its quick resolution, adhere to the Minimum Standard of performance (MSOP) as mandated by Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) and compensate each and every Consumer in case of any failure on its part. Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal sent a Letter to Sukhbir Singh Badal demanded good services from PSPCL

Bhukhari Kalan , 30 January 2014 -
National Bharatiya Janata Party Leader from Punjab and BJP Kisan Morcha National Secretary Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal write a letter to Sr. Sukhbir Singh Badal President, Shiromani Akali Dal ( SAD ) and  Deputy Chief Minister and Power Minister Government of Punjab regarding PSPCL for providing good services to the Consumers of Punjab. According from our sources Grewal stated to Sr. Badal that our SAD-BJP Punjab Government has made several efforts to boost the industrial sector in Punjab state. Due to these efforts of SAD-BJP Government as result several business houses are keen to invest in our Punjab. Grewal stated that Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) mandates a compensation to the Consumer in case of non-fulfillment of these Minimum Standards of Performance. Compensation varies from Rs 50/- to Rs 5000/- for each default for each Consumer. It is well known that Punjab State Power Corporation Limited neither fulfils these Minimum Standard of performance (MSOP) nor compensates any Consumer towards any such lapse whereas Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) mandates payment of such compensation by the way of adjustment in Electricity Bills. For instance, Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) mandates a normal fuse off complaint shall be addressed within 4 hours in cities, towns and urban areas and in case Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) fails to resolve the complaint within 4 hours, it shall remit Rs 50/- as compensation by the way of adjustment in the next bill of the Consumer. Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) mandates registration of each and every complaint filed by the Consumer verbally, telephonically or in writing as per a duly approved Consumer Complaint Handling Procedure whereas there is hardly any such effective system in place to register and address consumer complaints. According to the Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR) filed by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) with the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC), it received only 2462 complaints in a year from over 65 Lac Consumers across Punjab whereas on an average more than 10000 complaints are received daily by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited which clearly means Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) had fudged Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR) figures to avoid compensation and save itself from the wrath of Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC). Grewal also sent the Copies of this letter to Hon’ble Ram lal ji, National General Secretary BJP (Org), Brigadier Jagdish Gagneja ji, Shri. Shanta Kumar MP, ( Rajya Sabha ) Prabhari Punjab Pradesh,  Shri. Shyam Jhaju, National BJP Secretary and Seh-Prabhari Punjab, Shri. Om Prakash Dhankar, National President BJP Kisan Morcha, Shri. Kamal Sharma, Punjab State President BJP, Shri. Ajay Jamval, General Secretary (Org) BJP Punjab, Shri. Tikshan Sud, Political Advisor to CM Punjab, Shri. Fool Chand Jain ji, RSS Vibhag Sang Chalak for Information and necessary action so that they may be helpful to all Punjabi's in the Punjab state.

US administration Nancy Powell contact with Narendra Modi is based on assessment - Grewal

Ludhiana , 14 February 2014 -
National BJP leader and All India Secretary Kisan Morcha Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that the decision by the US administration Nancy Powell to resume contact with Narendra Modi our BJP party's PM candidate for 2014 polls appeared to be based on their suo moto assessment of the domestic situation of India. In a press statement here today, Grewal said that the US ambassador Nancy Powell has met the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today. He said that the decision by the US administration to resume contact with the Gujarat Chief Minister appears to be based on their suo moto assessment of the domestic situation in India. Grewal said that he regard it as an internal corrective of the US administration. He said that the earlier decision not to keep contact with an elected representative in India did not appear to be based on any cogent evidence or court verdicts. It was based on excessive propaganda in the media and elsewhere created by certain NGOs. Grewal said that for us in our party BJP this meeting is a part of the diplomatic routine.  He said that the Gujarat Chief Minister is unquestionably the frontrunner in the 2014 General Elections. Grewal said that he has convincingly won the State assembly elections three times and the earlier decision of some countries not to deal with him was a failure of India’s foreign policy. Grewal stated that it is not for a political party or a State government, to react to another country’s response of dealing or otherwise with elected representatives in India. He said that it was for the External Affairs Ministry ( MEA ) to react to it, Did the MEA under the UPA fail in this regard ? Unquestionably it did. On Congress party leader Salman Khurshid's comment that Modi could never be the brand ambassador of India, Grewal said that it's the reaction of the External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid to this meeting is self evident.  He said that the Congress Party is today a demoralized lot. He said that for it the writing on the wall is very clear. Grewal said that it's best case scenario is a defeat in the elections.  He said that the logical scenario appears to be indicating a complete rout, it's vote base has disappeared. He said that the arrogance of its leaders still remains and that arrogance is evident even in the reactions in the past few hours. Grewal said that the External Affairs Minister who should have protected the dignity of an elected representative in India appears distressed even as the US Ambassador met our Gujarat Chief Minister, Shri. Narendra Bhai Modi

Now a day our Country needs to strengthen institutions like CAG , CVC in India - Grewal

Ludhiana , 13 February 2014 -
Now a day our Country needs to strengthen institutions like CAG , CVC in India. National Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha and Prabhari Himachal Pradesh Advocate, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal taking a dig at Government's contention of blaming vigilance and investigating agencies for policy paralysis. In a press statement here today, Grewal said that though their vigour does not suit the ruling class many a time, institutions like CAG and CVC should be strengthened in a healthy democracy. He said that often critical voices are heard against organisations who have been given powers of vigilance by the Constitution. Grewal told that recently a statement came which disturbed me that institutions like CAG and CVC are an obstacle in progress. He said that my opinion is that I would like to state that it is not a healthy thinking. He said that according to me this thinking is harmful for democracy and the entire constitutional format is based on checks and balances. Grewal said that Vigilance and prevention are a way to strengthen the Constitution. He said that it's therefore necessary to strengthen the organisations which have been given powers by the Constitution to keep vigilance over different arms of the Democratic Government. Grewal said that any deterioration in these organisations will also adversely impact democracy. He said that CVC realised its powers after the CVC Act 2003 came into being and started working with new vigour, it's many a time this vigour of investigating agencies does not suit the ruling class and the rulers can be of central and state.
