SAD-BJP Government is planning to set up special courts for NRIs in Punjab - Grewal
New Delhi, 8 January 2014 -
National BJP Leader from Punjab and All India Secretary Kisan Morcha Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal today said that our SAD-BJP Government is planning to set up special courts for NRIs on the lines of the existing police stations in Punjab. In a press statement here today Grewal said that our Government in Punjab was contemplating to establish a dedicated and separate civil set-up for facilitation of civil matters pertaining to NRIs. He said that our Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal is very keen to give facilities, due to this in future there would be a totally separate system for civil matters, and the matter would be brought up in the next cabinet meeting. He said the setting up of NRI Police Wing brought good results with an increase in the number of cases 1,200 in 2012 and 3,000 in 2013 out of which 2,100 complaints had been sorted out. Grewal said our SAD-BJP Government also launched a web portal for Punjabi NRIs, enabling them to have an access to the state run welfare programmes and grievance redressal system. Grewal told that from Punjab Government the holders of Non Resident Punjabi card, introduced by the Punjab government last year would be entitled for a life insurance of Rs 5 lakh. Grewal told that our Government in Punjab had introduced the Mera Pind Mera Scheme under which NRIs would have to give only 25 per cent of total matching grant. Grewal told that a twenty four hours call centre has also been established for NRI cases. Grewal also met Hon'ble Nitin Gadkari Former BJP National President at this NRI sammelan at Central BJP Office New Delhi.
