Grewal writes to Nancy Powell over US Immigration Reform Bill S- 744


Ludhiana , 14 May 2014 :
National Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha and Prabhari Himachal Pradesh Advocate, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal today write a letter to outgoing US Ambassador in India Ms. Nancy Powell  has expressed grave concern of his party over the US Immigration Reform Bill S- 744. Grewal recalled that the US Senate controlled by the Democrat Party led by US President Mr. Barak Obama had passed the S 744 US Immigration Reform Bill last year. He said that it's now due for consideration in the US House of Representatives by June 2014, Separately Grewal stated that this is the legacy of the outgoing Congress UPA Government led by Dr. Sardar Manmohan Singh who affectively failed to clinch this issue in India’s favour with President Mr. Barak Obama. He said this bill shall hit India the hardest. It shall have adverse restrictions on Indian H1B and L1 visa holders. It shall adversely affect the Indian IT industry as well as NRI (non resident Indian) IT industry in US. If the bill is passed then Indian firms will be forced to cut down on sending their employees from India stated BJP National Leader. He told that nearly 5 Lakh Indian engineers shall be affected in case S-744 becomes the law of US stated concerned. Grewal said that it shall cause a loss of nearly Rs 1.875 Lakh crore in Indian exports to US per year. It shall reduce the GDP of India and its dollar reserves almost to the tune of 1 to 1.5% of Indian GDP. Grewal stated that this bill shall also negatively impact the US economy. Grewal pointed out while this bill is being supported by US IT sector but is opposed by US Chamber of Commerce. Grewal said so we urge the US House of Representatives not to pass this bill without deleting it's anti-Indian provisions.
