National BJP Leader Grewal show solidarity with Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa


AMBALA, Haryana - November 27, 2014 :
National BJP Leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal on thursday met Bhai Gurubaksh Singh Khalsa who is on hunger strike at Gurdwara Sri Lakhnaur Sahib, 10th Patshahi near Ambala in Haryana. Grewal learnt about the health condition of Bhai Khalsa and shown solidarity with his struggle for the release of Sikh political prisoners who are languishing in jails of India. Grewal was accompanied by Avtar Singh Machhiwara, Ramandeep Singh, Swaran Singh along with other Sikh BJP leaders from Punjab. It's well known to each and everybody that Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa has continued to raise his voice for the freedom of Sikh political prisoners, now from Gurdwara Sri Lakhnaur Sahib in Haryana.  He is facing some health issues, but he continues to be steadfast about his demands for the release of Singh prisoners. Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa stated that there are some people who are trying to malign his name and associate him with non-Sikh organizations. “My mission is only to seek the release of imprisoned Singh prisoners,  I have no association with anyone besides Guru Granth Sahib and Guru’s sangat,” stated Bhai Gurbaksh Singh to BJP leader Grewal. Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa said that to fulfill his mission, he has approved BJP senior leaders because the “Panthik” Government of Punjab has to this day not shown any interest in the well being of imprisoned Singh prisoners.

BJP field Navjot Singh Sidhu for Jammu and Kashmir election campaign- Grewal


Poonch, Jammu - 23 November 2014:
Punjab BJP Leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that after successful innings in Haryana assembly elections now Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to field its "cricketer turned politician" Navjot Singh Sidhu for Jammu and Kashmir poll campaign, signaling the rising clout of the star campaigner in the party. Talking with the media persons here today Grewal told that the former MP from Amritsar will address three public meetings in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. Grewal also told that Sidhu would leave Delhi at 8 am and address his first public meeting at Garh Samana Ban in Udhampur district in Rampur constituency, where BJP has fielded R S Pathania. He would address two more meetings at Chenani and Zib Thathi. It's well known to each and everybody that in the run-up to the assembly elections in Haryana, Navjot Singh Sidhu had taken on BJP's Punjab alliance partner Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) criticising it for supporting Ex- Chief Minister Shri O P Chautala led Indian National Lok Dal and publicly exposed the "wrong-doings" of Akalis Chief. Grewal told that Navjot Singh Sidhu would be provided a helicopter for campaigning in Jammu and Kashmir. Grewal said that let Akalis say anything, but Navjot Singh Sidhu is indispensible for BJP high command. This (campaigning for party candidates in states other than Punjab) is also an indication of Navjot Singh Sidhu playing an important role in state or national politics in times to come. Grewal told that Navjot Singh Sidhu has been specially chosen for campaigning for party nominees keeping in mind his demand by the youth of the state. It's also well Known to everybody that last week Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) had officially expressed its displeasure over Navjot Singh Sidhu's repeated caustic attacks against it. It had lodged its protest with BJP, citing Navjot Singh Sidhu's "derogatory remarks" against Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leadership at a function in Ludhiana. Pointing out that it was against the spirit of coalition, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has demanded that the issue be taken up with BJP high command so that Navjot Singh Sidhu could be "tamed". On the other side Navjot Singh Sidhu had said that it was time to have "lok raj (people's rule)" in the state. Without naming Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) he said, "When the entire Punjab unites, these people will scurry away as time has come to end their rule." Taking a dig at the state Government's slogan "Raj nahi sewa", Navjot Singh Sidhu alleged it was 90% commercial gains (mewa) and 10% real service (sewa). "I am often told to speak cautiously. But I am not afraid of speaking the truth," he had said.

Congress party is responsible for all problems in Jammu and Kashmir - Grewal

Punjab BJP Leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal today held Congress responsible for all the problems in Jammu and Kashmir as the party expressed hope that the people of the state will give a decisive mandate to the party to form the next Government. Talking with the media after a public meeting here today, Grewal said that the Congress party is responsible for all the problems in Jammu and Kashmir. They failed to deliver when they were first part of the coalition with PDP and with the National Conference for the past six years. BJP Leader from Punjab Grewal who is in Srinagar in connection with the on going Assembly elections, expressed hope that BJP would form the next Government in the state. He said that 'I am in Srinagar and will only leave after our party BJP forms the next Government here in the State Jammu and Kashmir. He said that we are overwhelmed to see the response of the people, I toured the sikh majority areas i.e. Jawahar Nagar and of Baramulla of the state and was surprised to see how much the Sikh residents love our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Grewal also react to Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad remark that the 90% of the crowd in Shri Narendra Modi rally in Kishtwar constituted outsiders, he said the Congress party has insulted the people of the state Jammu and Kashmir. Grewal also react to the manifesto released by Congress party on Sunday, he said that Congress party's manifesto is nothing more than rubbing salt on the wounds of the people of the state as they failed to do anything for them when they were in power in the state. He said that Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has a dream for the state of Jammu and Kashmir, to bring it on the developmental map of the country. He said that Shri Narendra Modi does not indulge in the politics of region or religion, he believes in the slogan of justice for all. Grewal said that our party slogan is "Sab ka Saath, Saab Ka Vikaas" it has nothing to do with the religion of anybody. He wants to provide world class infrastructure to the state of Jammu and Kashmir, generate job avenues for the people of the state to bring them out of the miseries of poverty and underdevelopment of Jammu and Kashmir.

Narendra Modi promised to End Dynastic Rule in Kashmir - Grewal

National BJP Leader from Punjab Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that our Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi Saturday exhorted people in this Jammu and Kashmir town to unshackle themselves from the yoke of dynastic rule and promised to make the state the ultimate tourist destination in the world. Grewal told that in a public rally Shri Narendra Modi said that Jammu and Kashmir had been held hostage by two families for over 50 years, without naming either the Congress or the National Conference. “One family rules and robs the sate for five years and then after it becomes unpopular, it gives the power to rob the state to the other family. They have done a political match fixing between themselves". BJP Leader told so Shri Narendra Modi appeal to unshackle yourselves from the yoke of this Dynastic Rule. He asked people to vote for the BJP in large numbers so that the next government in the state is formed by the BJP on its own strength. The state will see a staggered five-phase elections that begins Nov 25 and ends Dec 20.The votes will be counted Dec 23. Shri Narendra Modi also spoke of Former Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s vision for the state, asserting he would use all his power to realize that dream. “I have a vision for Jammu and Kashmir and that vision is based on Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s vision of Insaniyat, Jumhooriyat and Kashmiriyat. Shri Narendra Modi said that “There were times when Kutch district in Gujarat was the most backward area of the country, I learnt a great thing by visiting Kutch. I had then recently taken over as the chief minister of Gujarat. I met people there who told me they were fed up of repeated speeches by politicians about the looming threat from across the border.” He also added that “people there wanted me to speak to them about development and progress in their lives. I learnt there that power of this vision in Kutch. Today Kutch is the fastest developing district of the country”. “It produces more electric power than the entire state of J&K. If Kutch can prosper, so can Kashmir. I have come to seek your cooperation to realize that dream for Kashmir.” The Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that development is his mantra for the entire country. Noting that the fastest growing industry in the world today is tourism industry, he said: “I have to bring back Bollywood to Kashmir. I have to bring back tourism to the state and I have to make J&K the ultimate tourist destination in the world.” Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi also spoke of the rehabilitation of refugees who came here from Pakistan after 1947 and are living in Jammu from many years.

Narendra Modi will address at least seven rallies in Jammu and Kashmir - Grewal

Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi will address at least seven rallies in the state, holding at least a rally or two ahead of each of the five phases of the polls in the state. Talking with the media persons after a public meeting here today, National BJP Leader from Punjab Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on whom BJP is banking heavily will hit the campaign trail in Jammu and Kashmir, Saturday when he addresses a public rally in Kishtwar, four days ahead of the first phase of balloting for the Assembly elections in the state. He said that our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will address another rally next week in Udhampur in Jammu region and later a rally in valley too. Grewal stated that our party BJP is banking heavily on aggressive campaigning by Modi in its bid to achieve its ambitious the 'Mission 44+' target required in an Assembly of 87 seats. According our sources the BJP party is targeting the educated class in the state to send home the message that development is key to the state progress and the Government of the same party at the Centre and the state would help achieve this easily. So to woo the intellectual class in the state of Jammu and Kashmir the sources said Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and other noted lawyers will also campaign and hold public meetings. Buoyed with the party’s recent successes in Haryana and Maharashtra, the BJP is optimistic of performing well in the Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand, both of which will have five-phased polling from November 25. The BJP has also chalked out a strategy for Jammu and Kashmir and is working in close coordination with smaller parties as well as moderate separatists in the valley to achieve its target of forming a government of its own and has had talks with some of them. It's well known to each and everybody that the Assembly polls in the state of Jammu and Kashmir will start from November 25 and end on December 20 and the election results will be out on December 23.

Rajnath Singh visit Jammu and Kashmir to campaign for BJP candidates - Grewal

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest all 87 seats in Jammu and Kashmir - Grewal



Jammu - 30 October 2014:
National BJP Leader from Punjab Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that our party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest in all the 87 Assembly constituencies in the upcoming Assembly polls. Talking with the media persons here today he said we won't be entering into any prepoll alliance with any political party as we are considering to field our candidates on all the 87 assembly constituencies in the state Jammu and Kashmir. Grewal while expressing confidence that his party would replicate its recent performance in Haryana and Maharashtra elections in Jammu and Kashmir, he said that our party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was confident to win more than 44 seats in the State. Grewal stated that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will go beyond 44 seats and form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir and our party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would soon come out with the first list of its candidates as the Election Commission has announced the dates for assembly elections in the state. He said our focus would be on the candidates who are capable to win, those who have a clean image and who can deliver. The party's election committee will hold a meeting today to decide the names of the candidates. Grewal said the party wants to strengthen democracy in the state and its main poll plank would be to provide corruption free governance to the people. He told that our manifesto is clear, we will provide a corruption free, fear free and dynasty free governance to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We want the people of the state to give us a chance and if we fail they can throw us out after six years. Grewal said the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has increased many fold amongst the people of Kashmir especially the muslim population in Kashmir was keen to give Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a chance in the state. He said the people in Kashmir, especially muslim population and have come closer to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He said the people in the valley have appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister in providing them relief and rehabilitation after the devastating floods. Grewal said now the common people of the state want Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to come and hold election rallies in the state and we are hopeful that he would oblige them. Grewal launched an attack on National Conference and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his opposition to the timing of holding assembly elections in the state. Grewal said Omar Abdullah has failed to deliver and like a student who knows he would fail in the exams and is afraid to face them and he too is aware that he would loose hence he objected to elections. Grewal said if voted to power his party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would resolve the long pending issues of the refugees from West Pakistan and the Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ) to do well in Jammu and Kashmir polls - Grewal

National Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha and Fromer Prabhari Jammu and Kashmir Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal today asserted that our party BJP will do well in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections as its main plank is development. Talking with the media person here today Grewal said that he is quite sure that the people, like rest of the country, will choose development as the main plank. He said that our party ( BJP ) will do extremely well because none of the parties, mainstream or otherwise in Jammu and Kashmir has brought in development for people of Jammu and Kashmir. He also stated that we have seen what kind of development is taking place in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Grewal said that each and everybody have seen what has happened in the recent floods in the State. So we can keep narrating incidents to you where the Governments have floundered out here. Grewal said that none of them has benefited the people so far and so I think a time has come for the people to choose a party which will stand by them in the developmental needs of the state Jammu and Kashmir. He said he has come here to meet the people who are in the party and those who are fighting the five-phase Assembly polls, scheduled to begin on November 25, 2014. Grewal said that he have come here to meet our people who are in the party organisation and also to meet the people who are our candidates and get a feel how things are going. Asked about the posters calling for boycott of the polls, Grewal said that when people start putting up posters it shows that they are absolutely insecure. They know their influence is going down everywhere in the State. Grewal said that I am quite sure people of Kashmir want development, people of Kashmir want a similar type of lifestyle which rest of the country enjoys. They want all facilities which should come and these are not going to come by some militant group, i.e. Hizbul Mujahideen, they are not going to come by any separatists who have some other agendas. He said development can be ensured only when people can take part in the democratic process by electing a government that can do something for them. Grewal stated about BJP stand on Article 370 which guarantees special status to Jammu and Kashmir, he said our party BJP wants a discussion on various such things for the benefit of the people of the country. He said that article 370 is there in the country, is part of the Constitution. All that we said in the party at some point of time that there are lot of such things in the country which need to be discussed so that we can ensure that these work for the benefit of the people of the State. He also said that on the possibility of our party BJP entering post-poll alliance in Jammu and Kashmir. Grewal said that the polls get over our party will decide. These things will only come up once the elections take place and we come to know how the things are in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

Follow slogan 'One Booth Ten Youth' BJP to workers in Jammu & Kashmir - Grewal

National BJP leader from Punjab Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that the Mission 44 plus of BJP cannot be achieved without the dedicated, sincere and vigorous efforts of the party workers because cadre is the strength of BJP and that is why BJP is different from other political parties in India. In workers meeting in Kathua BJP leader said to ensure 100% turnout in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. Grewal asked party workers to be present at their respective polling booths following the slogan 'One Booth Ten Youth' coined during the Lok Sabha polls. He said the focus of each and every worker of BJP should be at their respective polling booths and all members of polling booth should check that 100% polling should take place at the time of elections. Grewal stated that the slogan of 'One Booth Ten Youth' must be followed just like it was done at the time of Lok Sabha elections. He also said that now the time is ripe for the nationalistic and peace loving people of Jammu and Kashmir to vote for a positive change in the state. "The enthusiasm which I have seen today among the workers is tremendous and he also advised that it is the need of the hour to ensure the victory of the BJP candidates for the betterment of Jammu and Kashmir as well as the nation. Today to encourage the workers at polling booth level, Grewal addressed a workers meeting of all three constituencies of Jammu including Jammu East, Jammu West and Gandhi Nagar Assembly Constituency in the State.

He told that the Graph of BJP is going up and the other parties are feeling isolated. BJP-SAD alliance would continue but may break if Haryana like situation Developed- Grewal

Punjab BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said our party alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) would continue but may break its for the 2017 polls if a Haryana like situation developed. Taking with the media persons at their residence Barewal Road, ludhiana, he said that many local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have sought split with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and shared their issues with our new Prabhari, Punjab affairs Incharge Shri Ram Shankar Katheria at Chandigarh few days back. Grewal stated that most of them feel the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ministers and MLAs do not get enough respect in their Departments and have no say in the SAD-BJP alliance Government. He said that our new Prabhari, Punjab affairs Incharge Shri Ram Shankar Katheria cleared that the coalition at the moment, looks fine but if the situation worsens, what happened with former allies INLD and HJC over seat sharing, we will fight polls on our own in Punjab. Grewal stated that our party workers have raised issues like drug menace in Punjab along with differences on VAT collection, property tax, change of land use policy and power subsidies. Grewal said that it's very well known to each and everybody that our Party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has gained foothold in both urban and rural areas of Punjab after registering big Lok Sabha wins in Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur and our Party is seeking changes in seat sharing with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) for the upcoming civic polls in Punjab.

In the drugs matter the Punjab Government must take strict action against big fishes. National BJP Leader from Punjab Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that only small time pedlars and addicts had been arrested in the state but the big fish were either not touched or simply let off. In a press statement here today he said that our Punjab State Government to take firm steps to control the drug menace from the state and show more commitment over the issue and the big fish will also should be arrested. Grewal said that the Chief Minister Sr. Parkash Singh Badal should show their political willpower to catch the big wigs involved in Drug Menace Punjab. He appreciate the Punjab State BJP President, Shri Kamal Sharma announcement that the Punjab State Bharatiya Janata Party would raise the issue of drug menace in Punjab by taking a delegation of the Punjab State Bharatiya Janata Party leaders to the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh. Grewal also thanked the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for taking up the issue of drugs during his radio programme, "Man Ki Baat". Grewal said that this time the State SAD-BJP Government needs to adopt a policy of zero tolerance against the drugs and come what may we should put in our all strength to launch a decisive war against this menace that has spoiled our future generations. Grewal said it's very shameful that our state is becoming a hub for carrying out drug business for many international drug suppliers. He said even as the Punjab State Government initiated a campaign against drugs but government needs to ensure that the momentum of the campaign should not decline. Grewal said that in the drugs matter the State Government must take strict action against every individual what if he may be from any Political Party. Grewal said that our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra has rightly said that the issue needs to be tackled with a strong determination, our Party's each and every leader urges the Punjab Government to show the same commitment for the cause in Punjab.
