Ludhiana: 7 November 2014 -
Punjab BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said our party alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) would continue but may break its for the 2017 polls if a Haryana like situation developed. Taking with the media persons at their residence Barewal Road, ludhiana, he said that many local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have sought split with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and shared their issues with our new Prabhari, Punjab affairs Incharge Shri Ram Shankar Katheria at Chandigarh few days back. Grewal stated that most of them feel the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ministers and MLAs do not get enough respect in their Departments and have no say in the SAD-BJP alliance Government. He said that our new Prabhari, Punjab affairs Incharge Shri Ram Shankar Katheria cleared that the coalition at the moment, looks fine but if the situation worsens, what happened with former allies INLD and HJC over seat sharing, we will fight polls on our own in Punjab. Grewal stated that our party workers have raised issues like drug menace in Punjab along with differences on VAT collection, property tax, change of land use policy and power subsidies. Grewal said that it's very well known to each and everybody that our Party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has gained foothold in both urban and rural areas of Punjab after registering big Lok Sabha wins in Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur and our Party is seeking changes in seat sharing with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) for the upcoming civic polls in Punjab.
