Bharatiya Janta Party National President Rajnath Singh said today the party’s electoral alliance with Ajit Singh’s Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) would surely materialise. “There is no reason as to why it (the alliance) should not happen. We are optimistic,” Singh said in the capital today at BJP Investor Cell while addressing the Adhiveshan delegates at VP House, New Delhi. The tie up is important for the BJP, which is banking on the RLD’s support for Rajnath Singh’s victory from Ghaziabad in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. The RLD wields influence in this area, considered a bastion of RLD chief’s father and former Prime Minister Choudhury Charan Singh.
The BJP, meanwhile, also demanded a joint parliamentary committee probe into the Satyam scam - a matter it had yesterday vehemently argued in the Lok Sabha while opening the debate on the Interim Budget. “Is the government trying to protect Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister by shying away from its responsibility of constituting a JPC on the matter?” BJP’s Ananth Kumar had yesterday asked. Rajnath went a step further, accusing the UPA of shattering India’s economy which was growing at a rate of 8.4 per cent during the NDA regime. “The growth rate is down to 6.5 per cent. When Atalji demitted office, the growth rate was stable at 8.4 per cent. After five years, the UPA has destroyed the economy, causing millions of job losses. Small investors have been wiped out,” Rajnath said, at an investors’ meet here. He also remembered that the NDA had sustained the economic growth in the face of economic sanctions imposed by the US, post Pokharan-II and the Kargil War. “If voted to power, we will put in place an effective regulatory system to prevent Satyam like frauds,” he said. The BJP meanwhile again urged for 4 per cent interest rate on farm loans, with Rajnath saying the party favoured a policy of providing farm subsidies directly to farmers instead of industrial house. “Farmers should get their subsidy money directly, in their bank accounts, not through industries,” he said Sh. Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal, Punjab State President, BJP Investor Cell said that UPA govt. has failed on all fronts of the economy. Grewal expressed the concerns of the retrenchments and job cuts, lacs of people/employees has been shown the door, thousands of shops, industries has been close down, crores of rupees of the small investor has been lost in the share market. In the result investors have lost faith in capital market which has turned into casino. Further he expressed his concerns on weakening of rupee, increasing fiscal deficit and declining exports. It appears that the UPA govt. is not concerned in the economy of the country. At present, it appears there is no finance minister with the UPA govt. while country is going into deepest of the recession. There has been contradictions in the statements of ministers of the UPA govt. which reflects depression and lack of confidence in this govt. Today The BJP investor Cell has organized Niveshak Sanklap Maha Adhiveshan of delegates in worthy Leadership Of Sh. Arun Singh National Convenor, from across the country to discuss 11 point agenda of misconceived, misdirected and mismanaged economy by the UPA govt. From the massive Maha Adhiveshan delegates will return to respective states and will convess for the party in the Lok Sabha Elections for the party candidates. At this time Deepak Sharma Malseehian, Ajay Gupta Mohali, Nipun Sharma Hoshiarpur, Sandeep Tony Jaitu, Rajesh Pathak Bittu Dhandari, Chamkaur Singh Pandher Kohara, Babu Vijaymal Doraha, Ramandeep Singh, Devinder Singh, Harmeet Singh Sonu, Harminder Singh Neetu, Ajay Gupta, Arun Sharma along with 500 BJP Investor Cell Delegates from Punjab were also present.
